When I first started in MLM I was excited. I went to a meeting viewed the presentation and was instantly swept up in the excitement and hype of this golden opportunity to break free from the trappings of the 9 to 5 routine. Even more exciting was the fact that the guy who invited me had only been in the company for six months and was aleady earning a 5 figure a month income. Instantly I was sold on the promise of wealth and a lifestyle that we all dream of but only very few actually achieve.
Anyway to cut a long story short I joined the very next day and instantly followed my leaders advice and began to make a list of everyone I thought may be interested in making some extra money. That week I started calling everyone on my list inviting them to come and share in the secret wealth formula that I had stumbled upon. At the same time I started my online advertising campaign. I was sure people would be interested in this goldmine.
Boy was I wrong. I seriously rang over 50 people in that first week and to my disbelief only 7 people showed any interest. Not to be deterred I focused all of my energy on the 7 friends and managed to convince 3 of them to attend the following weeks presentation. The afternoon of the evening meeting I decided to give my friends a call to organise picking them up and thats when the excuses came flying at me. The end result, only one of my friends attended the meeting and although after viewing the presentation he was excited about the opportunity when it came time to make a decision about joining politely declined.
At the same time I was also attending my companies online training sessions and following their advice about advertising online. I spent hours and hours placing ads on craigslist, on classifed ad boards, in free advertising forums, posting my opportunity ads to groups on myspace, clicking like crazy on ad exchanges to earn credits to advertise my offer.
For the next two months I persisted with these online strategies while offline hounded everyone I knew and everyone they knew, but the results were the pretty much the same. By the end of my third month I had only recruited two people into my business using offline strategies and had only managed to capture 3 leads using my online marketing. I was feeling exhausted, frustrated and started wondering if it was all worth it. Then I had a breakthrough.

I came across Mike Dillard’s free video course on how to get sign ups into your MLM and suddenly my eyes were opened. Mike’s free course made me realise that my MLM advertising strategy was all wrong, and here’s just a few of the reasons why?
Offline targeting of your family and friends to join your MLM does not work. First of all you need to target people who arte already interested in MLM or currently involved with other MLM opportunites. Secondly people who join MLM join leaders not companies.
If your not already a wealthy and successful person why would your friends believe that because you have found an opportunity that things are suddenly going to be different and your going to automatically transform into a dynamic leader that can show them the pathway to wealth.
When it comes to online MLM advertising people are even more sceptical. Because there are so many scams online people rarely commit to signing up for an opportunity based upon a capture page and set of autoresponder messages regardless of how impressive your opportunities MLM advertising pages look. People join successful people not MLM companies.
Today my approach to MLM advertising is much different and so are the results that I achieve. Within one month of implementing some of the strategies I learned from Mike Dillard I signed 4 people into my MLM opportunity offline and generated over 100 online leads and have never looked back.
